Scenic Highway 30A is more than just sugar-white sand and emerald waters. It’s also a culinary destination filled with iconic restaurants, hidden gems, and vibrant hangouts that define the flavor of the Gulf Coast. Here you won’t find chain restaurants, but what you will find is a plethora of locally owned dining establishments each with their own culinary specialty and ambiance. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning year after year, these can’t-miss places to eat and drink on 30A belong on your list.
Seagrove Village Market – Seagrove Beach
A local favorite for decades, Seagrove Village Market is known for its “deep fried love” since 1949! Serving baskets of fried shrimp, oysters, and grouper, the atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, making it the ideal stop after a morning on the beach. The fried grouper sandwich made Garden and Gun Magazine’s list of “100 Things to Eat Before You Die.” They have terrific dinner specials, cold beer, and great seafood every time.
Cafe Thirty-A – Seagrove Beach
A casual fine-dining restaurant featuring a contemporary eclectic menu, fine wines, and exciting martinis. Cafe Thirty-A is one of the few true icons on 30A. Known for fabulous food, impeccable service and gracious hospitality, this is a must stop restaurant when you’re visiting 30A. Reservations are required because you can’t get in without one.
Bud and Alley’s – Seaside
A genuine 30A landmark in Seaside, Bud and Alley’s has been serving fresh Gulf seafood and Southern-inspired classics since 1986. Located right on the beach, it is the perfect spot for a casual lunch or a romantic dinner, and the rooftop deck is famous for its sunset views. You can also try the family of restaurants from Bud and Alley’s located right next door to the original, Taco Bar and Pizza Bar.
The Great Southern Café – Seaside
Located in the heart of Seaside, The Great Southern Café blends Southern comfort food with international flair, calling itself new-fashioned Southern cuisine. Delicious ceviche, baked oysters, black-eyed pea hummus, collard greens are just a few of the new takes on classics. Don’t miss their famous Grits à Ya Ya, shrimp and grits with a decadent twist. Pair it with one of their famous mojitos, and you’ll understand why this spot is always buzzing.
Idyll Hound Proper – Inlet Beach
Part brewery, part restaurant, Idyll Hound Proper is the newest addition to the 30A dining scene. Expect creative small-batch beers alongside a menu of inventive coastal dishes, all served in a fun, relaxed atmosphere perfect for groups or families. The brewery itself (Idyll Hounds) is found just down the road in Santa Rosa Beach and has an active tasting room.
Amici and Amigos – Inlet Beach
Sister restaurants, Amici is the Italian side and Amigos is the Mexican fare, but both are always full of happy customers who know they will get great food served fresh. Located in the 30 Avenue complex at the easternmost entry to Hwy 30A, you’ll love spending time at one or both of these local spots.
George’s – Alys Beach
George’s offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience with a menu that focuses on seasonal, sustainable ingredients. With its charming white-washed cottage and outdoor patio, it’s a must for a leisurely lunch or elegant dinner.
The Citizen – Alys Beach
Just steps away from George’s, The Citizen is a sleek coastal tavern and raw bar that celebrates modern Gulf cuisine. The menu features everything from oysters and crudo to craft cocktails that rival any big-city bar program.
The Red Bar – Grayton Beach
No dining list about 30A would be complete without The Red Bar. More than a restaurant, it’s a local legend. It even burned to the ground in 2019 and was painstakingly rebuilt to exact specifications of the original. Known for its funky décor, live music, and simple but delicious menu (think blackened grouper or crab cakes), The Red Bar is an institution. It is lively, quirky, and unforgettable—just like Grayton Beach itself.
